The sea container has arrived!
January 27, 2018
The sea container has finally arrived after such a long hold up in customs. It was a bit challenging once again for Serge (he was in charge of receiving the container as Axary had our truck in PauP for service). Serge was in contact by phone with the shipping company who scheduled a Thursday delivery. However, Tuesday at 4 pm he received a call that the container was at the depot waiting to be unloaded! With short notice and darkness approaching Serge had to scramble to get this accomplished. Mr Telimon was very helpful in opening the depot and assisting Serge in anyway possible. 2 hours and 22 people later the container was unloaded and items secured.
Serge has spent the last 3 days unwrapping pallets and crates, organizing and making inventories. To date a personal item for Serge was stolen (how terribly ironic) and 7 boxes for Debi Phillips are missing and some X-ray film for the TB clinic broken.
I have been in touch with Dr Crosswell, Eli Rozier (TB) and Debi Phillips regarding the inventory. I am hoping that with continued organization perhaps her boxes will be found.
On a positive side it seems all the big dental and X-ray equipment is in good condition. And the preacher from Beaudoin happened to be at Gebeau so toothbrushes and paste were already given.
Serge and Axary will continue to organize and help make distributions when Axary returns with truck on Monday. ~Nancy
